Working in a Workspace

Comments

Verified against Soffi ·

Comments live on the running app, pinned to the element they're about. Nobody has to work out which screen a screenshot came from or which button "the blue one" means, because the comment sits on the button. Anyone with access to a Workspace can comment, including Reviewers, who can't edit.

Leaving a comment

Open the Comments tab (or press C) and click anywhere in the Preview to start a comment there. Comment mode stays on while the tab is open; the toggle in the panel header turns it off when you want to use the app normally again. In the Review layout, the comment button is in the side panel, and pressing C turns comment mode on and off.

You can also comment on something you've already selected, from the toolbar that appears next to the selection.

Type @ to mention someone. They get the comment in their inbox, linked to the place it's pinned. See Working together for how the inbox works.

Replies and resolving

Each comment is a thread. Reply to keep the conversation on the element, and click Resolve once it's handled. The Comments panel lists open threads, plus resolved ones you haven't read yet, so a fix someone made while you were away still reaches you. Unresolve brings a thread back.

Only the person who wrote a comment can delete it.

Video comments

Some feedback is easier to show than to write: a flow that feels slow, an animation that's off, a sequence of steps that leads somewhere wrong. Click Record video comment to record one. Your browser asks to share your screen first, which Soffi needs to record; where the browser supports it, the recording is cropped to the Preview. Your camera and microphone are included, and a recording can run up to five minutes.

When you stop, you can add a caption and review the transcript, which is generated from what you said and can be edited before you save. Save & Share posts it. A video comment is a thread like any other: people reply to it, and the transcript stays with it, so others can read what you said without playing the video.

Where comments go next

Comments stay with the Workspace, so the people reviewing it see the feedback in context, on the same screens. When you're working on the feedback yourself, Soffi can take the element a comment is about as context: select it in the Preview and describe the fix.
